MIDLAND, Texas, March 18 (UPI) -- A Texas police department shared video from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' detonation of 20,000 pounds of seized fireworks.

The Midland Police Department said its bomb squad assisted the ATF in disposing of the fireworks over the course of 3 1/2 days in Glasscock County, Texas, and captured video of the resulting light show.

"This disposal was very informative for our bomb techs who are charged with handling explosives," the police department said in a Facebook post.

"This was done during the day because it was not meant to be a fireworks show. These fireworks could not be donated since their destruction was court-ordered," the department said.
