ROME, March 17 (UPI) -- The Irish embassy in Rome shared pictures showing the Colosseum bathed in green light for the first time to mark St. Patrick's Day.

The embassy said it partnered with Rome City Hall and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities to have the Colosseum illuminated in green for the first year that the monument has been a part of St. Patrick's Day festivities.
