ROSTRAVER, Pa., March 12 (UPI) -- An overturned tractor-trailer on a stretch of Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania tied up traffic for several hours by covering the roadway in Twizzlers licorice.

The Rostraver Central Fire Department said the truck collided with a barrier in a construction zone about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday and overturned, spilling its load of candy onto the road.

Chief Vince Campbell said both lanes of westbound traffic were shut down for several hours early Thursday while crews worked to clear hundreds of cardboard boxes and loose packages of Twizzlers out of the roadway.

Investigators said there were no injuries reported from the incident and foggy conditions may have contributed to the crash.
