Stephen O'Laughlin, who said he does not want to identify the Kansas City bar and grill where he works, created a "Missed Connections" posting on the website featuring a picture of the empty glasses and unpaid tabs left behind by the two women. The waiter wrote the women may have wrongly assumed the men they were with had paid the bills. "If you both feel this bond -- and/or want to pay for your tab -- message me what bar you went to at 4 pm," the post reads. O'Laughlin said they stiffed him for less than $7, but he is hoping they will do the right thing on principle. "There are so many waiters and bartenders in the world and it happens to so many people at some point and I feel like it's a story a lot of waiters can relate to," he told WTVR-TV. "It's honestly not a big issue to me one way or the other, but I still think it's a funny way to go about dealing with any problems you have," he said.
