PITTSBURGH, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Parents of students at Monessen Middle School in Pennsylvania are angry after their children reportedly were given a Fifty Shades of Grey themed word search.

The puzzle was based on the book-turned-film story about BDSM between a young writer and a fetishist CEO. The words to find included "bondage," "handcuffs," "spanking," "submissive" and "sensuality."

The puzzle was given to four or five students during "in-school suspension." It came to public attention after parents complained at a school board meeting.

"I think that's a shame," Carol Liscik told CBS Pittsburgh. "From what I heard about that book, it's very racy. And for those students to get this, it's really something."

The school board is investigating the personnel involved in the situation.
