GUILIN, China, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Security footage from a Chinese hotel captured the moment an alleged drunken driver crashed through the revolving doors and drove around the hotel lobby.

Footage from the Jan. 20 incident at the Ramada Hotel in Longsheng County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, shows the sport-utility vehicle crash through the revolving door, drive around the lobby with the doors still attached to its front, perform a U-turn and head back out the door.

Police said blood tests showed the man was highly intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The man allegedly told police he had been drinking heavily and decided to drive into the hotel for a thrill.

The man, who caused an estimated $48,000 worth of damage to the hotel lobby, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and endangering public safety.
