Circular saw blade removed from man's face

The blade narrowly missed Zheng Lang's left eye.

FUZHOU, China, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A Chinese tradesman using a circular saw to cut through metal bars ended up with a piece of broken saw blade embedded in his face.

Zheng Lang said he was working on a house that was under construction the southeastern city of Fuzhou when his saw blade broke on some metal bars and a piece of the blade struck him in the face near his left eye.

"I felt something hit my forehead and blood came out," Zheng said of the Dec. 28 incident.

Zheng was rushed to a nearby hospital, where X-rays revealed the blade was nearly an inch into his skull. The object was removed via surgery.

Doctors said Zheng may experience slight visual impairment to his left eye but is not expected to face any other long-term consequences from the injury.
