YouTube censors back off Swedish genital song for kids

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A Swedish TV station has persuaded YouTube to drop the "adult" restriction from a video featuring dancing cartoon genitals.

"Snoppen och snippan," from SVT public television kids' show Bacillakuten, features cartoon penises and vaginas bopping along to a song featuring lyrics such as, "Here comes the penis at full pace," and "the vagina is cool, you better believe it, even on an old lady. It just sits there so elegantly."

The music video went viral last week and caught the attention of YouTube censors, who had it classified as "adult rated" during the weekend.

The song could only be viewed by YouTube users who confirmed their ages as 18 and up until the adult restriction was lifted at the request of SVT officials.

The episode of Bacillakuten featuring the genital song aired Sunday, but the clip was released online as a promotion Jan. 5.

The release of the video, designed to teach children about their bodies, coincides with Britain's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children releasing an animated video titled "I saw your willy," which follows the unfortunate adventures of a young boy who has a picture of his genitals go viral online.
