STETTLER, Alberta, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- A Canadian couple seeking "the most loving person in central Alberta" for a Hawaii trip said they have expanded the contest to all of North America.

Cody and Eva Borek said they were awarded with a free Hawaiian vacation when they recently purchased a car in Stettler, but they decided to give it away to "the most loving person in central Alberta."

The couple said they received nearly 5,000 nominations since Christmas on a Facebook page set up for their contest, and they decided to expand the search to all of North America.

The Boreks wrote on the Facebook page they are searching for a person "who lives like Christ," but "this does not mean they have to be a Christian, this only means they must be loving, forgiving, caring, and compassionate."

"If you seen how many people have called me in tears or messaged me because they are so humbled and honored they have been nominated, it would really touch your heart," Cody Borek told ABC News.

The Boreks said the 10 people who receive the most nominations will be entered into a drawing to win the prize Jan. 25.
