Squirrel carries GoPro camera up a tree

MONTREAL, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A Quebec man used bread to entice a squirrel to carry his GoPro camera up a tree for a video that has gone viral on YouTube.

The video, which had more than 2 million views on YouTube as of Wednesday, features a squirrel carrying the GoPro camera up a Montreal tree and dropping it from a branch as the camera's owner, David Freiheit, looks on from the ground.

The video ends with Freiheit retrieving the camera, which does not seem to be damaged.

Freiheit said he used bread, a favorite snack of squirrels, to entice the animal to pick his camera up from the ground.

"I attached a piece of bread to my GoPro, and a squirrel picked it up and carried it up a tree," he wrote in the video's description. "After eating the bread, it swiftly discarded the GoPro."
