LONDON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- The world's tallest man and the world's shortest man said they struck up a friendship when they met Thursday in London for a Guinness World Records event.
Guinness brought Turkey native Sultan Kosen, 31, the tallest man alive at 8 feet, 3 inches, and Nepalese man Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 77, the shortest man ever recorded at a height of 1 foot, 7 inches, together Thursday in London to celebrate Guinness World Records Day.
"I'm honored to be in London, I've always wanted to visit and the fact I get to meet Sultan is special. It makes me extremely proud to represent Nepal all around the world, I'm extremely humbled by the support I receive," Dangi said.

"I love London and to be able to finally meet Chandra after all this time is amazing," he said. "Even though he is short and I am tall, we have had similar struggles throughout our lives and when I look into Chandra's eyes, I can see he's a good man."
Kosen said he plans to keep in touch with his counterpart.
"I hope from now on we become really good friends and do more things together," he said. "I'm inviting Chandra to Turkey -- hopefully he will come."
