DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- An Ohio mother said she was shocked to discover the "princess wand" she bought for her daughter contained an image of a girl cutting her wrist.

Nicole Allen said she bought what appeared to be a "princess wand" from a dollar store in Dayton this week and she was shocked when a piece of foil came off and revealed a picture of a girl cutting her wrist with a knife.

The toy, which also features flashing lights and an evil cackling sound effect, "outraged" the mother, Allen told WHIO-TV.

"I want to know how they think that is suitable for a child. There was Barbie dolls on one side and baby toys on the other side, and these were right in the middle," she said.

Amar Moustafa, owner of the store, said Allen should have known what she was getting as the product -- despite having a princess on its packaging -- is called an "Evil Stick."

"So from the name, if I was buying it for my kid, I would inspect it before I gave it to them," he said.

He said he would consider removing the product from shelves if there are further complaints.
