David Wilson said he was on a fishing trip Sunday to Shell Beach in the town of Pismo Beach with his girlfriend, Casey Baca, and her daughter, Kaya, 10, when a large wave struck them. Advertisement Wilson said he lost a shoe to the wave, but the water carried in a sealed bottle that appeared to contain a message. The trio said they opened the bottle and discovered it contained an invitation to a birthday party for a girl named Safina on the island of Maui, Hawaii. The invitation, which was from 2010, also bore the name Kim Woodstoker, who Wilson and Baca theorized could be Safina's mother. The family said they would like to contact Safina to let her know they received her invitation. "I would just wanna talk to her, to see like, talk to her about the party and everything and it would really just be cool to see her," Kaya told KYET. Advertisement Wilson said there were phone numbers printed on the invitation, but they have since been disconnected.
