Woman with backward-facing feet rejects disability benefits

CHONGQING, China, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- A Chinese woman born with backward-facing feet said she doesn't think of herself as disabled and she can actually outrun most of her friends.

Wang Fang of Chongqing, who is in her 30s and has a son born with normal feet, said she refuses to accept disability benefits because she is perfectly capable of living a normal life despite her condition.

"I can run faster than most of my friends and have a regular job as a waitress in the family restaurant. There is no reason to class me as disabled," she said. "I can walk as well as anyone else and even run faster than them. I'm like everyone else -- except of course that I put my shoes on backwards."
