Burger King to debut black cheeseburger in Japan

The cheeseburgers are named "Kuro Pearl" and "Kuro Diamond" -- or "Black Pearl" and "Black Diamond."

TOKYO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Burger King is set to introduce a new black burger in Japan.

The Kuro Pearl burger costs 480 yen, or roughly $4.80, and features bamboo charcoal cheese and bun, an onion and garlic sauce made with squid ink and a beef patty seasoned with black pepper. The deluxe Kuro Diamond version includes onion, lettuce, tomato and mayo, and rings in at 690 yen.

Burger King Japan previously released a similar black burger in 2012. The new versions with cheese will be available for a limited time only, and go on sale September 19.
