Police: Boozy burglar passed out drunk at bar

Inebriated William Duffy allegedly broke into Pennsylvania bar and passed out on a kitchen table, where he was found by police.

MOUNT JEWETT, Pa., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania said an intoxicated intruder broke into a closed bar and spread out on a kitchen table to take a drunken nap.

The Pennsylvania State Police received a call at 4:04 a.m. Sunday from the owner of the Mountain Inn Bar in Mount Jewett, and the owner reported a man had been spotted loitering around the closed establishment.

Court records state police arrived to find William Duffy, 35, had apparently broken into the bar through a front window before falling asleep on a kitchen table.

Duffy, who police said was intoxicated, was arrested on a felony charge of criminal trespassing for breaking into a structure and a summary offense of public drunkenness.

Duffy was released on $10,000 bail and is due in court Thursday.
