FRIENDSWOOD, Texas, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- For the second summer in a row, residents of a Texas town are being terrorized by a suds snatcher.

The beer burglar has been raiding the refrigerators of Friendswood by breaking into garages in neighborhoods throughout town.

Similar booze boosts began occurring at the end of last summer and continued until a 19-year-old was arrested and charged with theft in February.

The Friendswood Police Department is not sure if this latest string of burglaries is connected.

"I'm surprised it started up again," area resident Greg Shell told Click2Houston. "Where we live, you don't typically have problems like this."

Shell has had eight beers taken by the burglar this time around.

"Are they that desperate for a beer?" Shell asked. "The beer is irrelevant at this point; it's the fact that someone is in my area when they shouldn't be."
