HOLLYWOOD , Fla., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A Florida burglary suspect was arrested after he called a cell phone he allegedly left behind on a victim's bed in an effort to retrieve it.

Wayne Wade allegedly called the phone and gave his name to the investigator who answered it. Detectives found Wade's fingerprints on the phone and believe he has also burglarized other homes in the area.

The victim told police she saw Wade leaving her apartment after he was identified.

"So, the allegation is you burglarized the home, you left your cell phone, you realized you left your cell phone and then called back, and the police answered the phone and you told them what your name was over the cell phone," a judge told Wade during a hearing. "I'm just trying to absorb that."

The 46-year-old is claiming his phone was stolen, but authorities aren't buying it.

Wade has been charged with burglary and grand theft.
