HOUSTON, July 31 (UPI) -- Burglars broke into a Houston store so that they could get their hands on a somewhat interesting product -- hair extensions.

The crooks busted into Beauty Sensations with a pickup truck and started hauling in the extensions as fast as they could.

Although the hair heist may sound curious, it was actually quite lucrative because some of the extensions sell for up to $400 apiece.

It's believed that the eight thieves made off with thousands of dollars in merchandise.

"It's a hot commodity," store manager Deneen Jacobs told KHOU. "I mean everybody's buying hair, everybody wants hair. And it's expensive."

Given how specific the burglars were and what they were targeting, it's probable that they scoped out the store before the score.
