The crooks allegedly went after the former military man and demanded that he get rid of his "prized possession," because it was a "challenge to their authority." Advertisement "Don't try to intimidate us with your moustache. Get them removed soon or we will root them out," the facial-hair-fretting felons allegedly told the victim. When he refused, the gang of outlaws chopped off his left ear with a knife. Adding insult to injury, the criminals "thrashed" the man before taking off. The ex-trooper was treated at a local government hospital. "The police have identified the criminals involved in the attack and are conducting raids to nab them," local police official Sanjeet Kumar Sinha told the Gulf News.
