AUCKLAND, New Zealand, July 21 (UPI) -- A New Zealand man with numerous tattoos of one of the most beloved patriarchs in television history is now the proud owner of his very own Guinness World Record.

Lee Weir set the record for 'the most tattoos of the same cartoon character tattooed on the body" by getting Homer Simpson inked on his body 41 times.

"I like this guy because he's big and orange like me," Weir told 3News NZ.

The 27-year-old wasn't allowed to watch the show as a kid because his dad was a real "Ned Flanders," a restriction that Weir does not impose on his old children.

"He wouldn't let me watch as it depicted the father and the head of the household to be a buffoon," Weir told the Mirror. "My two-year-old daughter Lucy can point out different Homer tattoos on my arm -- her favorite is 'baby Homer'"

All of Weir's tattoos were done by one artist, including the Homer Simpson sleeve on his arm that took about 25 hours to complete. Weir, who got his first Homer tattoo in 2007, dreams of contacting show creator Matt Groening for some exclusive art.

"Just on a scrap bit of paper that I could then get tattooed," Weir said. "And then you get you as a character, tattooed on you."
