NORTHAMPTON, Mass., July 14 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man was arrested after he allegedly gummed up the works at a pizzeria in Northampton.
According to police, Patrick Hogan ordered a pie from Mimmo's Pizza and got upset after waiting for over 30 minutes. Hogan "felt that it took too long. He said that he was out of here, that he wanted his money back," Captain Jody Kasper told MassLive.
A Mimmo's employee gave Hogan his money back and let him have the pizza as well, but Hogan felt that the worker threw the food and funds at him.
Angered by the alleged slight, Hogan tossed a gumball machine at the worker, hitting him in the leg.
The suspect then knocked over a cash register and threw a clock before attempting to "make his way around the other side of the counter."
The 24-year-old later allegedly got upset that another patron was recording the incident on his cellphone and punched him several times after a verbal argument. Hogan also smashed the 23-year-old's phone.
He was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery, malicious destruction of property, larceny over $250 and vandalizing property.
