PLAIN CITY, Utah, June 27 (UPI) -- A Utah man who pleaded guilty to an assault charge has been sentenced to 30 days in jail following a fight over saved seats at a Mormon church.

The chapel was especially busy that day because of a baby blessing and a missionary farewell.

The argument spilled out into the parking lot and Dodge allegedly beat a man from the seat-saving family until he was bloody. Dodge is also accused of swerving his car to hit the man when he was driving away from the church.

Dodge pleaded guilty in to misdemeanor assault in exchange for a charge of aggravated assault being dropped. The 52-year-old was also ordered to complete an anger management class as part of his 12 months of probation and pay a $550 fine.
