TORONTO, June 17 (UPI) -- Dozens of Rob Ford look-alikes attended auditions to play the embattled mayor in Rob Ford the Musical: Birth of a Ford Nation.
Ford, who has admitted to smoking crack cocaine, announced Tuesday that he intends to return to work at the end of June after spending two months in rehab.
"Kindly be advised that I will be returning to work at City Hall on Monday, June 30th, 2014, in the later portion of the afternoon," Ford wrote to the Toronto city clerk. "Please make the necessary arrangements for my locks to be restored to their state prior to my departure."
Ford is seeking re-election on October 27. The play is slated to have a two-week run in September.
