The victim reported that the perpetrator, a man, woke her up by tapping her on the shoulder. She got up and discovered that her purse and a box of coins had been taken.

The Mazda dealership told police that Shropshire quit in January.

The 49-year-old was under Department of Corrections monitoring at the time of the alleged burglary, according to KOMO.

When Shropshire was questioned, he admitted that he had won the Salesperson of the Month at South Tacoma Mazda.
