Florida woman named Crystal Metheney arrested, but not for narcotics

Metheney was arrested last month in Polk County for shooting an 'offensive missile' on Cinco de Mayo.

POLK COUNTY, Fla., June 11 (UPI) -- The state that has produced infamous criminal suspects including Edward Cocaine and Brittany Boozel can now add another one to the Mount Rushmore of Florida names: Crystal Metheney.

According to records from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Metheney was arrested on Cinco de Mayo for violating a statute that prohibits the firing of missiles.

Specifically, Metheney is accused of firing an "offensive missile" into a vehicle. It appears that when the 36-year-old allegedly fired the missile, the vehicle was occupied.

The suspect was released the following day after posting $5,000 bond.

Although this incident was not drug-related, records indicate that Metheney was arrested in 2012 on a marijuana possession charge.
