When police arrived, the 39-year-old resisted arrest, caused damage and was taken into custody forcefully.

PVPD spokesman Sgt. Brandon Bonney said Read admitted to "firing the weapon multiple times and trying to shoot the moon," according to AZ Family. Read said that he had smoked marijuana prior to the incident and that he did not intend to hurt anyone.

Read was booked on suspicion of felony counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and endangerment in addition to a count of misdemeanor criminal damage.
