TEMPE, Ariz., June 9 (UPI) -- Online gamers who were playing "Defense of the Ancients 2" with an Arizona woman were able to come to her aid during a home invasion early on Monday morning.

The woman was playing the game around 5:00 a.m. at her home in Tempe when two armed men allegedly forced their way in.

The woman, who is well-known among DOTA players, had her webcam turned on. Other participants saw what was happening and contacted the authorities.

"At that point gamers from around the world were watching the home invasion occur while trying to contact the corresponding law enforcement agency," Sgt. Steve Carbajal told AZ Family.

When police responded to the home, they were able to capture one of the suspects after a short foot chase. The second suspect is still on the loose and police believe that he may be carrying a handgun.

The unnamed woman was not injured during the incident.
