BRADENTON, Fla., June 9 (UPI) -- A Florida man was arrested and charged after he was allegedly involved in a food fight that ended with its combatants "covered with food condiments"

Lorenzo Ramirez and his girlfriend Marisol Morales reportedly squared off with ketchup and maple syrup after they got into a verbal argument at their Bradenton apartment.

While the 19-year-olds argued, "Marisol decided to drag the bed out into the living room to sleep separately from Lorenzo," the Smoking Gun reported.

At some point during the argument, Morales took a bottle of maple syrup out of the fridge and Ramirez snatched it from her. He allegedly "poured it over her head," so Morales grabbed ketchup and began squirting it at him.

When deputies arrived, the apartment was "trashed" and Morales was "sobbing."

Ramirez was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for initiating the alleged battery with the syrup dump.
