NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- The Merriam-Webster Collegiate dictionary released their list of new words which includes "selfie", "hashtag", "Yooper", and "tweep."

Some of the words refer to alternative eating habits and new foods like "freegan" (a person who looks for food in garbage bins to reduce consumption) and "turducken" (a boneless chicken stuffed into a boneless duck stuffed into a boneless turkey).

Residents of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan finally had their wish granted for "Yooper" to be officially added to the dictionary.

The list is heavily laden with social networking terms showing that Facebook and Twitter are changing the way we speak.
