"You get a little bit of an adrenaline rush. I always tell people that we don't grizzlies down here, this is one of the more dangerous things that you can do. We've been having snakes at this place here for 54 years and we having a bigger crowd every year," event coordinator Don Childre told WTVY.

Rattlesnake hunters were expected to catch over 70 diamondbacks for the event. “We’ve gotten a few more hunters this year,” Childre told the Andalusia Star News. “That has made for a better year.”

The Rattlesnake Rodeo is one of the state’s top tourist attractions and the festival usually attracts almost 25,000 people throughout the weekend.
