KINGS COUNTY, Wash., April 11 (UPI) -- People who think “love stinks” may want to consider getting hitched in Washington.

The Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Center, a facility that processes raw sewage, has recently started billing itself as a wedding venue.

"The natural area that is around it is beautiful, we can have outside weddings as well," Susan Tallarico, the director of Brightwater Environmental Education & Community Center, told KIRO. "I know, who would’ve thought?" said Tallarico.

An eight-hour rental of the indoor section of the center costs $2,000 and the money is used to fund environmental education programs.

"Need a place to party? With a full catering kitchen, state-of-the-art AV equipment, dance floor, ample parking, beautiful outdoor grounds, and room for up to 260 people, our LEED Platinum certified Brightwater Center has everything you need for your wedding reception or special event," the center said in a Facebook post.

Other venues in the area range from $5,000 to $10,000 in price.

"I think a lot of people will have a hard time getting past what really happens there. You're having food and beverage, it somehow doesn't feel right," said wedding planner Jacky Grotle. "I don’t think I could recommend it ever to my clients.”

Tallarico claims that guests won’t be able to smell the sewage because the center is a "zero odor" facility. "It's not an issue, it really isn't," she said.
