Hubert Zajaczkowski, 21, whose Seat Toledo spent weeks under several feet of flood water when he was forced to abandon it Christmas Eve on a road near the village of Muchelney, said he put the non-working automobile up for sale on eBay and it sold for $165,000, the Mirror reported Friday. Advertisement Zajaczkowski, who did not identify the buyer, said the money will go toward a charity dedicated to helping victims of the Somerset flooding. The car became famous as a symbol of the flooding and appeared in international media outlets. it was mentioned by Prince Charles and Prime Minister David Cameron during remarks about the flooding. "I wasn't expecting my car to be on telly and then eventually international news and in newspapers," Zajaczkowski said. He said the 15-year-old car has seen better days. "It smells. It is unbelievably disgusting in there," he said.
