School officials called medics to the Rudolph Blankenburg Elementary School in West Philadelphia after some students reportedly ingested birth control pills.
Medics were called to the school around 11 a.m. after 12 students became ill after either tasting or eating the birth control pills.
None of the students had to be brought to the hospital and parents were informed about the situation.
According to officials, a student brought the pills to school thinking they were candy. Police are investigating the incident.
