Animal Planet's cat expert Jackson Galaxy will head to Portland, Ore., to meet with the angry kitty who made national headlines when he lashed out at his family earlier this month.

The network said Wednesday that Lux, a 22-pound Himalayan cat, will appear on the next season of Galaxy's reality series, My Cat from Hell, which aims to help owners forge healthier relationships with their feline pets.

Lux's family called 911 when he suddenly attacked their 7-month-old baby.

Owner Lee Palmer said he and his family wanted to keep the cat, who had "been part of the family for a long time."

Galaxy said last week that he wanted to know more about what prompted Lux to lash out.

“We realize this behavior doesn’t occur in a vacuum. That’s really the important thing, is that there’s always a context," he said, adding that health problems could play a factor.

“At the end of the day, I don’t want this cat to die because of the viral nature of this story," he said.
