Palin's 'Green Eggs and Ham' speech was from a chain email

Email had been circulating at least as far back as 2010.

When Sarah Palin closed down this year's Conservative Political Action Conference with a speech that borrowed from Dr. Seuss classic Green Eggs and Ham, many people hailed her for being quite clever.

As it turns out, the good doctor might not have been the only person Palin was borrowing from.

This is from an email that was apparently circulating as early as 2010. Although it isn’t identical, the similarities to Palin’s speech are fairly obvious.

I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam. I do not like these dirty crooks, or how they lie and cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like their secret deals. I do not like this speaker, Nan, I do not like this ‘YES WE CAN’. I do not like this spending spree, I’m smart, I know that nothing’s free, I do not like your smug replies, when I complain about your lies. I do not like this kind of hope. I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!

Here is what the former vice-presidential hopeful recited at CPAC:

I do not like this, Uncle Sam. I do not like this healthcare scam. I do not like these dirty crooks Or how they lie and cook the books I do not like when Congress steals I do not like their crony deals I do not like 'oh yes, we can' I do not like this spending spree We're smart, we know nothing's free I do not like reporters' smug replies When I complain about their lies I do not like this kind of hope And we won't take it Nope, nope, nope!
