South Carolina mom holds man at gunpoint for having sex with teenage daughter

FORT MILL , S.C., March 7 (UPI) -- When a South Carolina mom found her 15-year-old daughter having sex with a 23-year-old man, she took matters into her own hands and busted out a BB gun instead of waiting around for police to show up.

The mother, who isn’t being named to protect her daughter, held Addison Pittman at gunpoint until Sheriff's Deputies arrived.

Although he told the daughter that he was only 17, she knew that he was 23 after meeting him on the social media website Kik five months prior.

"I had it (the gun) held just like this. I had it point towards his chest and I held him," the mother told WBTV. "If I knew he was 23 at the time, I probably would have pulled this BB gun and shot him. If he tried to escape, I would have shot him.”

The girl was grounded and lost her cellphone and Internet privileges. Pittman was charged with 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and released on $15,000 bond.

Pittman claims he didn’t know the girl was 15 until deputies showed up at the house.

“I knew I was 23 years old,” he told the State. “The girl knew I was 23. When she told me [she was 15], it shook me up. I had never been in a situation like that. I never messed with a minor…I was in a state of shock the whole time. I just feel they’re making it seem like I was a predator. That’s not me at all.”
