The man, who identifies himself only as Mr. K Hayes, lowers his flags every night and puts them up every morning. “I’m not sending any message,” Hayes told CBS Miami. “The same thing when the Puerto Rican flies his flag. He’s proud of his heritage. I’m proud of mine.” Advertisement When asked why he had the noose hanging in front of his house, Hayes responded: "That's because I don't have a big tree in my backyard to hang it from." His neighbors are none too pleased about Hayes exercising his First Amendment rights. “I think it’s horrible,” said Roseanne Areces. “I think it’s disgusting and I think it should be taken down.” Hayes called the flags his "patriotic duty" and said he will continue to fly them. “I’m worried,” said his African-American neighbor, Margaret Martin. “Is he gonna burn a cross on my yard? You gotta be sick to do something like that. Or you want attention. I’m a Christian. I pray for people. I’m gonna pray real hard for him.” Advertisement [CBS Miami] [NBC Miami] Read More Jenna Betti, 14, killed by train while reaching for her phone Lena Dunham will write a four-part series for Archie Comics Dove ditches 'Armpit of America' ad on New Jersey billboards Putin and Turkish prime minister discuss Ukrainian crisis Kendall Jenner walks grocery-store runway for Chanel
