Surpassing 1,300,000 retweets in less than an hour, @TheEllenShow posted the record-breaker while hosting the Oscars tonight. The previous record Twitter picture was a "Four more years" image posted by President Obama to celebrate his re-election victory in 2012. The picture was retweeted more than 78,000 time and favorited about 295,000 times in 15 months.
DeGeneres' photo was retweeted more than 2 million times and favorited more than 900,000 times just 2 1/2 hours.
