BOARDMAN, Ohio, March 3 (UPI) -- After Pharrell Williams made noise at the Grammy Awards for what he was wearing, not what he was performing, the talented artist found a way to turn all the attention into more than $44K for charity.

Williams performed at the award show wearing a vintage Vivienne Westwood “mountie” hat that looked a bit similar to the logo of a certain fast-food sandwich chain.

Williams was able to do a little more than just take the joke. He put the hat up on eBay to raise funds for From One Hand To Another, his nonprofit organization that supports learning programs for youths between the ages of 7 and 20 in at-risk communities.

On Sunday, Williams wore the hat at the Oscars and the bidding for the piece of fashion trivia closed. The winning bid was for $44,100 and it came from Arby’s.
