NEW ORLEANS, March 2 (UPI) -- A smoke-belching statute of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was among the floats in New Orleans' politically insensitive Krewe d'Etat parade, a Mardi Gras forerunner.

The annual parade, one of several of varying levels of elegance and decorum in the city this weekend, came with all the sarcasm and lack of political correctness for which it is famed.

The float depicting Ford, known for his admitted use of crack cocaine, was accompanied by a "Fifty Shades of Gray" marching troupe featuring women in gray wigs and men's shirts, as well as floats with less-than-complimentary depictions of Hillary Clinton and Miley Cyrus.

Displays disparaging the Affordable Care Act and the management of Louisiana's Orleans Parish Prison were also part of the parade in New Orleans' Uptown neighborhood, the (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported Sunday.
