LEXINGTON, Miss., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Walter Williams, 78, was declared dead at his Lexington home but ended up waking up in a body bag.

In a story that is the stuff of nightmares, Williams was declared dead in his home at 9 p.m. Thursday night when a coroner could not detect a heartbeat. Around 2:30 a.m. the next morning his nephew got a call saying that Williams was still alive.

The funeral home was about to prepare his body for embalming when they started to unzip the body bag and noticed that Williams had started kicking in an attempt to get out of the bag.

"We we're not definitely not going to do anything to him one we saw that he was not deceased," said embalmer Byron Porter.

For anyone who reads this and feels the need to look up the fear of being buried alive, it's called "Taphophobia."
