BERLIN, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A German electro music video that went viral internationally was created by a theater director to help rebrand a popular grocery store.

The video, which features Hans-Holger Friedrich, 58, a classically trained theater actor and director, portraying the character Friedrich Liechtenstein as he sings an electronic dance-style song about the products available in Edeka stores, TheLocal.de reported Monday.

The video, dubbed "Supergeil," features Liechtenstein describing the products as "geil," meaning "great" or "sexy." The actor dances down the supermarket aisles and at one point bathes in milk and treats a sausage as if it were a lit cigar.

Friedrich was hired to give Edeka a "cooler" image. He came to national attention last summer with his electro video "Kickvogel," which featured him dancing around the streets of the German capital.
