The organizers of the second annual Sydney Skinny said they aimed to set a world record this year for nude swimming and led participants Sunday on a 2,952-foot swim, or a 984-foot swim for novices, at Cobbler's Beach in Sydney Harbor National Park, the British newspaper the Independent reported Monday. Advertisement Nigel Marsh, founder of the event, said it raised money for Australia's National Parks and Wildlife Projects as well as promoting the idea of "greater body acceptance." Marsh said participants use the Sydney Skinny "to throw aside concerns of body image, to connect with nature and celebrate living with more courage and kindness." A head count for Sunday's event was not yet available Monday.
