SEATTLE, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A Seattle man who claimed to have dual membership in the “Sicilian Mafia” and “CIA” to avoid paying at a South Lake Union restaurant ended up as a member of another exclusive group -- inmates of the King County Jail.

The 35-year-old was arrested and charged with theft, assault, and harassment after he tried to skip out on a $226.92 dinner bill at the World Sports Grille.

After getting the bill, which included a fish and chips dinner and four “very expensive” Scotches, the man attempted to pay with a credit card which was declined several times.

When the wait staff refused to let he man leave his laptop and car keys as collateral, his behavior took a “bizarre and erratic” turn.

He first claimed to be a member of the “Sicilian mafia” and said he would come back and “whack” everyone. The suspect followed that up by informing employees he was in the CIA.

The man realized no one was buying what he was selling, so he made a break for it. An employee tried to stop him, but the man took a swing at the staff member and managed to get out the door.

Restaurant employees were eventually able to chase him down and hold him until police could arrive. Officers noted the “significant amount of spit” the man had sprayed on one employee’s shirt.

As he was being taken into custody, the man told the staff that “this isn’t over” and vowed to return to the World Sports Grille.
