Police said the suspect, identified as Deven Tomasso, 29, walked into the store, took a sandwich, threatened workers with a knife and left.

However, he allegedly dropped his wallet in the process.

"We were able to identify him with the ID that was in his wallet, confirm that it was him in the store," Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said.

Tomasso's father Patrick Tomasso said his son stopped by his home Sunday.

"He came by and said goodbye. He's skipping town," Patrick Tomasso said. "It kills me. I love him with all my heart. I've lost time at work from this and I'm frustrated. I don't know what else to do."

"He had 19 days left on his parole then he was going to be free and clear. If you are listening, turn yourself in. I mean seriously, do the right thing."
