LAS VEGAS, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Las Vegas celebrated Presidents Day with a promotion granting an "official pardon" to any tourists who admitted to bad behavior during their visit.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority promotion, which branched off from its decade-old "What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas" tourism campaign, posted a sign at McCarran International Airport informing departing tourists that the city "is granting you an official pardon for whatever happened here over the weekend. Just look for the guy in the powdered wig," ABC News reported Wednesday.

The wigged man listened to confessions from departing tourists and handed out certificates reading, "Las Vegas pardons you for any and all activities, seen or unseen, herein."

The certificates were adorned with stickers resembling wax seals and reading "OFFICIAL PARDON."

A LVCVA representative told ABC News the promotion was designed by officials to carry on the "Stays in Vegas" theme in fresh and interesting ways.
