"House of Cards," inspired by three British miniseries that aired in the 1990s, features Kevin Spacey as a scheming Democratic House whip, and Robin Wright as his wife and partner in political trickery.

At a party Thursday to celebrate the premiere, Wright said Obama "knows good stuff."

Kate Mara -- who plays reporter Zoe Barnes on the series -- called Obama's tweet "one of the coolest things that's happened to me." Mara said she checked before commenting to make sure the presidential endorsement was genuine.
