Palin gets right-wing birthday greetings on YouTube as she turns 50

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who celebrated her 50th birthday Tuesday, got greetings via YouTube from Sen. John McCain and other Republicans.

The YouTube tribute was posted Sunday by She-PAC, a committee dedicated to electing conservative women, Politico reported. In addition to McCain, R-Ariz., who chose Palin as his running mate in the 2008 presidential election, contributors included former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump and Phil Robertson of "Duck Dynasty."

"Enjoy some moose hunting or do whatever else that a mama grizzly does on an important birthday," Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said.

Many of McCain's campaign aides have been critical of Palin since the 2008 election, but he and Palin have been respectful of each other, at least in public.

"I will treasure our memories and I will always be grateful to you," McCain said.
