ROME, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Authorities in Italy said they seized more than a million counterfeit clothing items, including fake cashmere containing fur from rats.
Police in Rome and Livorno seized more than a million clothing items made by five Chinese-owned firms operating in Rome and distributed by a company near Florence, ANSA reported Monday.
The clothing items included fake cashmere made from acrylic, viscose and fur from animals including rats. The counterfeits also included false merino lamb, silk and pashmina.
Police said 14 Chinese-born residents were warned they could face fraud charges as part of the investigation.
